Repricing Targets Explained: Who Does Your Repricer Compete Against?
You have set up your repricer, defined prices, and chosen a strategy. One critical question remains: Who should your repricer optimise against?
The target determines the reference price your repricer reacts to. Wrong target = fighting sellers you do not need to beat, or missing Buy Box opportunities entirely.
The 4 Targets in arbytrage.io
1. LOWEST_OFFER - Cheapest Seller (FBA + FBM)
Your repricer targets the absolute cheapest offer on the listing, regardless of fulfilment method.
Use when: You are an FBM seller, or you want maximum aggressiveness on highly competitive ASINs.
Do NOT use when: You are FBA - you would undercut FBM sellers unnecessarily (FBA already has a Buy Box advantage).
2. LOWEST_FBA_OFFER - Cheapest FBA Seller
Targets only FBA offers. FBM sellers are completely ignored.
Use when: You are an FBA seller (the majority of arbitrage sellers). This is the standard choice for most products.
Do NOT use when: You sell FBM, or the FBM seller has Seller Fulfilled Prime.
3. LOWER_BUY_BOX - Below the Buy Box Price
Targets the current Buy Box price and sets your price slightly below it.
Use when: Best balance of price and margin. Works great with STEP and ROUND strategies.
Do NOT use when: The Buy Box holder is Amazon Retail (consider an anti-Amazon approach instead).
4. HIGHER_BUY_BOX - Above the Buy Box Price
Sets your price slightly above the current Buy Box price.
Use when: Margin is your top priority, you have excellent seller metrics, or the product has low competition where a slightly higher price still wins Buy Box rotation.
Do NOT use when: Competition is aggressive, or you urgently need Buy Box share.
Decision Matrix
| Your Profile | Recommended Target | Why? |
|---|---|---|
| FBA seller, standard | LOWEST_FBA_OFFER | Ignores FBM, focuses on real competition |

| FBA, premium metrics | HIGHER_BUY_BOX | Buy Box rotation even at higher price |
| FBM seller | LOWEST_OFFER | Must compete against everyone |
| Aggressive growth | LOWEST_OFFER | Maximum Buy Box at any cost |
Best Target + Strategy Combinations
| Combination | Effect | Best For |
|---|---|---|

| LOWER_BUY_BOX + ROUND | Psychological pricing below Buy Box | Consumer products |
| LOWER_BUY_BOX + MATCH | Match Buy Box exactly | Price war prevention |
| HIGHER_BUY_BOX + MATCH | Slightly above Buy Box | Premium sellers |

FAQ
Can I change the target per product?
Yes. arbytrage.io sets the target per product, just like the strategy.
What if there is no FBA competitor?
With LOWEST_FBA_OFFER: no target exists, so the repricer sets your max price. You sell at the highest possible price.
Should FBA sellers reprice against FBM sellers?
Generally no. FBA offers have a natural Buy Box advantage. LOWEST_FBA_OFFER is the right choice for most FBA sellers.
